Mallorca hiker got into difficulties in the Serra del Cavall

FIREFIGHTERS and other rescue services have seen a big drop off in some of their duties since the confinement measures were announced as people are forced to stay indoors and, largely, out of harm’s way. However, fire crews in Mallorca were called out on Sunday after a hiker and her dog got into difficulties in the Serra del Cavall close to the northern resort of Pollenca. The unnamed female was rescued and returned to safety unharmed. This is not the end of the matter for her however, as she was in clear breach of lockdown rules and faces sanctions, possibly quite severe ones due to the rescue services being called out.  Dog owners are being told not to walk their pets in remote areas, precisely to prevent incidents like this happening.
