A National Police raid to release a woman who had been kidnapped and held on a property in Almeria also uncovered a marijuana farming operation. The authorities received a call on the Cimacc-091 emergency line from a distressed female, saying she was being held against her will. The police went to the property and with the help of the fire services were able to break in and rescue the woman. She said that she had gone to the property to pay a debt and after an argument about the amount owed, she was locked in the building.

Inside the building the police also found the factory, with 461 marijuana plants, electrical equipment suitable for growing the drug and other incriminating items. Two men, aged 56 and 32, have been arrested and charged with crimes against public health and theft of electricity as well as kidnapping and threats.
