COUNCILS across the Vega Baja and Mar Menor regions saw the investiture of mayors last Saturday to preside over the local authorities for the next four years.

The Partido Popular(PP) won back control of Torrevieja in last month´s local elections, with Eduardo Dolon(pictured) returning as mayor after a four year gap.

The PP have pushed ahead with a minority administration in Orihuela, whilst they are now in charge of Pilar de la Horadada.

PSOE gains included San Miguel de Salinas, as well as San Fulgencio, where they run the council with the help of Ciudadanos.
